Geocache Description:

Welcome to Wild and Wonderful West Virginia - nowhere is this statement more true than at Coopers Rock State Park. Join us for a casual meet and greet while you pick up your Country Roads Challenge playing card and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Cheat River. At 10 am, new caches placed at local businesses and points of interest throughout Mountaineer Country will be released. Find all 10 and earn a limited edition “Country Roads Challenge” Geocoin. No purchase is necessary to attend but to be guaranteed a limited-edition coin, you'll need to purchase a SWAG package.

📣 Event Details

Let's get GeoWoodstock XXI started! Join us for a very informal kickoff event to celebrate the Country Roads Challenge. Even though the event is scheduled for 4 hours, we're anticipating attendees to only spend about 30 minutes at the posted coordinates. Feel free to arrive and leave whenever to help alleviate congestion within the park.

Parking. Carpooling is highly suggested as parking will be limited at times throughout the event. Please review the map above and park in any of the indicated areas. Parking is also permitted along any road, as long as the vehicle is parked completely off of the road.

Sign the Log! We're so glad you're here! Look for our large event banner near the front of the shelter to leave your mark.

Pick up your Country Roads Challenge passport. Welcome to Almost Heaven. Take a moment to meet with our event ambassadors as well as the team at Visit Mountaineer Country to learn what West Virginia is all about. You can get started on the Country Roads Challenge at any time, all you need to do is pick up your passport.

Explore Coopers Rock. After signing in, take a few moments to check out the overlook, find the caches, and get your picture on the swing. Then, it's time to hit the road and start your adventure.

🚙 About The Country Roads Challenge

The Country Roads Challenge, presented by Visit Mountaineer Country, is a 10-stop adventure featuring the finest locations in the region. Participants who visit all 10 locations have the opportunity to earn a custom Geocoin, trackable on Geocaching.com. The series will launch at 10 a.m. as part of this event, and participants can complete the challenge at any time. Purchase is not required for participation in the Country Roads Challenge, however, buying a paid package reserves your coin.
