This is Piece 5 of a series of 12 puzzle piece caches that I am hiding all across Southern California! Each cache contains a different piece and when you have obtained them all, you can assemble them into a custom-made puzzle. Please feel free to take one puzzle piece, and leave the rest for others! This piece is located at the Maple Springs Trailhead at the base of Cleveland National Forest. There is a small seasonal stream that runs through this area in spring. This cache doesn't require any hiking or off-road driving; all you need to do is park in the parking lot and inspect ground zero. (Technically, parked vehicles must display a $5 National Forest Adventure Pass, so don't go wandering off!) The cache itself should be located somewhere behind the information boards near the front of the gate. Watch out for poison oak! If the pieces are running low or the cache otherwise needs maintenance, let me know and I will address it as soon as possible. Best of luck! Below are the links to the other pieces of the puzzle.
