Time: Sunrise is at 5.51am, recommend allowing 5 minutes from parking to getting to GZ (without stopping for other geocaches).
Location: Benches on the esplanade, between surf club and Mum's statue.
11 years ago on this event we had the first Sunrise event at Second Beach (https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5F3A9_lets-say-hello-to-2015-together) hosted by Team ERw2 (2512).
Since then I have tried to hold a sunrise event each year wherever I am, as I find it a nice way to welcome in a New Year.
(2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 )
In the event the weather is really bad, the event will be moved to the front of the surf life savers building where there is some shelter.
Why come along? To watch a stunning sunrise (fingers crossed) and be one of the first in the world to see the first sunrise of 2026.
2024 there was some clouds but as you can see we still got to see some amazing colours;
