Located near the start of the Boo Hoff trail, an historic Indian trail. The trail passes through the Santa Rosa Mountains National Scenic Area, along the north drainage of 6,548-foot Martinez Mountain.
The trail passes through many stands of Bigelow, or teddy bear, cholla. It seems the dominant cactus here, but there are also many barrel cactuses, as well as calico hedgehog, beavertail, and buckhorn. There are also hillsides covered with brittlebush and ocotillo.
Be on the lookout for Bighorn Sheep, coyotes, snakes, road runners, desert iguanas and other desert fauna.
Cache container is a 3" wide cylinder (Crystal Light) taped green. Contents include geoswag, logbook and geoletter.
