The Georgia Geocachers Association June Meeting will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. We are still meeting at 2:00 PM because the location closes at 5:00 PM sharp -- and we always chat for a while informally after the meeting. This month also celebrates the third anniversary of the GGA!
Once again we will visit the GA Herpetological Society and Dr. Mark Patterson. This is a very informative presentation on the snakes of Georgia and will help you understand which are the good guys and which are the bad guys. At times watching the audience reactions can be just as fun as seeing Dr. Patterson's specimens. As we come into the summer season this is a must-see presentation. Please bring a couple of bucks so we can give a gift to Dr. Patterson and it also cost $1.00 to tour the museum. Be sure to get there early so you can get a middle aisle seat!
We also have the Jeep Travel Bugs (JTB) for this meeting as well. We will raffle these off to lucky cachers. These JTBs are going to be used in a monthly contest for prizes. You need to place the JTB in a cache and write an essay or submit a photos for the adventures it has been on. Once a month the best story and/or pictures will be assembled and judged for the winner of the monthly contest. You can enter both the photo and the essay contest once a month, but only one of each per month. The rules and prizes will be explained in more detail at the meeting.
