For those that don’t have one, there is a boat hire place
in Woronora. I recommend calling them before heading out to check
on availability.
For your effort you will be rewarded with not one, but
FIVE caches that are part of the Woronora River series. The
other four are:
- Breakdown and
Makeup (contains the co-ords for the Deepwater
and Shackels caches)
- Deepwater Estate (contains half the
co-ords for Breakdown and Makeup)
-
Shackels Estate (contains the other half of the co-ords
for Breakdown and Makeup)
-
Ruined Castles
You can also walk or ride your mountain bike to the cache
(although it's a steep walk/ride back up).
- From Barden Ridge, follow the fire
trail that comes off Old Illawarra Rd.
- From Engadine, follow the fire
trail at the end of Woronora Road.
There is a well defined track that follows the river but is a
little above it. You'll see a metal railing going down to where the
cache is - it's pretty steep.
Back at the causeway, there is a fabulous swimming hole that is
used by many of the locals in summer. You may need to cool off
before heading back up the hill!
Now to the cache.
Unlike some of the others in the Woronora River series, this is
a traditional cache - just go to the co-ords!
