Annual trip to Ottawa for the National Police Memorial, first one since the pandemic and now with da Bush Boy performing! It was a nice family weekend enjoying the area with da Bush Lady too.

I needed a LB and this one offered a great view plus old buildings at a pioneer villiage (nice)! I almost crashed a wedding while here meeting the groom's parents in the parking lot hanging out in the shade. It seems they rented the whole property, so when they weren't looking, I split!

This was my favourite cache of the day dragging steel balls with a magnet through a huge maze. I had other caches I was going to do afterwards but my plans changed when I realized it was on the front lawn of the Fordham Brewing Company! Well, I ended up spending a few more enjoyable hours there instead, meeting the locals, enjoying some fine brews and playing some bingo (and winning!). Chris the bartender had an awesome zigzag beard and I also met the brew master and brought home a mason jar of limited edition chocolate stout! Wow, that was fun - I had a great time. Maybe I like drinking beer more than geocaching? NAH

Oh, and trip geo-accomplishments: 2 new states Delaware and New Jersey, icon sweep and state's oldest on Delaware and Maryland. Somewhere in there I did some actual work, but it was hard to notice amongst all the geocaches!

Totally monumental day shared with da Bush Lady including a pilgrimage to Geocaching HQ, earning the coveted Trifecta in less than 2 days (thanks watermanHQ for explaining what this was - I'm infamous for achieving such milestones almost always by accident!), and completing a 13 icon day! (it was almost sunset when I finally finished) Don't know how I'll top a day like this one! And somewhere along this trip I managed to complete 2 more grids!

Special thanks to Tracy (watermanHQ) for the gracious hospitality and warm welcome. We really enjoyed our visit to HQ.

What an awesome trip to Scotland for a 2 week Ayr-Paris Band bus tour! We had the time of our lives visiting some awesome castles, enjoying some awesome views, eating too much haggis and sipping whisky!

This cache required some special planning to happen and was the highlight of my geo-adventures on this trip. I am most grateful for da Bush Boy to be my hiking partner on this momentus hike that we will never forget. Even though I consider myself an accomplished hiker, but I found this hike my most difficult. The first 200m ascent was pretty easy on the roadway, we enjoyed talking with the goats and sheep along the way. But shortly after that the rain started, but we knew it was coming and were prepared (mostly!). We skipped on the slippery stone staircase Ben More pathway, and went the (somewhat?) easier route along the stream. The first part was really steep and we had to go up on all fours for some parts to avoid slipping. At one point we took a really long rest enjoying the view and questioning our life choices so far and why we were climbing this crazy mountain. We then carried on to the final destination completely drenched in about 2 hours 50 minutes. By now we had hiked into the misting clouds and visibility was reduced to about 50m so not much of a picture to take. The descent was much quicker, about 1 hour, including a really fun bit. The steep part of the climb near the bottom was now completely soaked and slippery and not really easy to climb down. So we slid down on our bums at an incredible speed laughing the whole way. Wow, glad I bought new bushwhacking trousers yesterday with a reinforced bottom! Once at the bottom, we were completely spent and thankful for a complete change of dry clothes waiting in the car.

At the conclusion of a long camping trip, we stopped to get this target cache that was on my list for too many years now. It turned out to be way more fun than we ever imagined! da Bush Boy had too much fun off-roading his truck and getting within steps of GZ. Then a really cool field puzzle and even more fun getting to the final. Not quite a P&G, but we drove into some spots no truck belongs LOL!
