Visited 8/14/2014 sunnyside7 took it to Winfield Mounds Earthcache Illinois - 246.74 miles  Visit Log

Great earth cache! Another interesting and beautiful walk in an area I've never been to before. Even though the dense vegetation limited my observations, I tried. I hope TeamAlexAbby accepts my estimates and guesses. Standing at the one waypoint I could just barely see one small piece of the river way upstream, and to study the topography would have required a dedicated bushwhack.
While walking through the prarie section a dozen or two colorful spotted frogs crossed my path. I'm wondering, where are all the snakes? They should be loving this. On the way back I hung a right at the E-W trail where I could meet the river up close and personnel.

Thanks Arthur & Trillian, for bringing so many geocachers together on this momentous occasion, and for passing around the logbook while directing traffic.

Visited 5/22/2014 sunnyside7 took it to St Louis Limestone in St Charles Missouri - 250.5 miles  Visit Log

We enjoyed the walk up to this familiar old building. We live in Chicago now, but I grew up in St Charles County and both of our daughters were born in the hospital right over there. We always enjoy coming back to St Charles.
I studied geology down at Cape, so I always appreciate a good earthcache. Thanks for setting this up in time for GeoWoodstock.

#3000 🙂🙂🙂
A great place and appropriate time to celebrate my 3000 milestone!
We drove down to Missouri today, and after lunch we spent a couple hours in the Miss.-Mo. floodplain, doing part of the Dove/Bird is the Word GeoArt series, just enough to run the find count to 2999.
What an awesome museum here! We didn't have enough time to do it justice.

I don't think I've ever seen this many cachers this early in the morning. It was good to see everyone. I sure didn't win the prize for travelling the farthest to get here...by a longshot. The biggest Thrill? We all got to sing Happy Birthday to Baby Yoda!🙂 Thanks TotH for gathering us here.

On our way to a theater on the north side, and this was the one cache that we backtracked and went out of our way for just a bit. We both like animal parades, and this was quite a moo-ving experience. Signed the log, snapped some photos, and soon we were moo-vin' on.

Visited 8/13/2013 sunnyside7 took it to Elk Grove Cemetery NOT A LAMPSKIRT Illinois - 19.37 miles  Visit Log

I came here this morning with sunnysidesouth, who was researching a couple of Revolutionary War graves for the SAR. Afterwards we found this cache, along with several nice ones in Busse Woods.
Very nice cache placement here, sure beats a lampskirt.
