Arriving home from work at the end of a short but very hectic week, I was surprised to find another cache listed in this park. I grabbed the pack and loaded the kids into the car and we were off. We fully expected to find someone else on the trails and sure enough there was a car in the lot. It had a bashed in front end and the remnants of a "stop" sign in the back seat. Fortunately it was not someone rushing to a new cache, just a local walking her dog. We hit the trail and made the find about five minutes later. The girls were very excited to be out on their first, FTF. We took a very nice RI Red pin to add to our collection and left several "____ in service" pins. Also took the Support Our Troops TB. SL
Since placing the "Roamer Cache" here about a year ago, I've been considering a permanent cache based around a murder that was committed along the old road just beyond the parking area. Watch out for lurkers behind the stone walls!
