Hi-5ers: Our parish perimeter series have now been around for a good while and are being retired. Some of the more popular caches will remain as stand-alone caches but this one is being archived.

This is part of a series of caches set around the border of the parish of Northill, Bedfordshire
At each point where a road breaks through the boundary to enter the parish a cache has been placed. In the log book for each of these caches there is a piece of information which can be used to locate a bonus cache: The Interior.
Northill parish has two websites: one for the Parish Council and a Community Information Web Site. The parish is home to the Ickwell May Day festivities which have been taking place on the green in Ickwell since at least 1565.
The full list of caches in this series is below.
We hope you enjoy this series and get a feeling for the varied nature of this parish.
Here the parish boundary crosses the road junction between Sheerhatch Wood and goes down/comes from an avenue of chestnut trees. Why Deadman's Oak? Well until recent years a large dead oak tree stood on the corner of the road junction. You can still see the big stump. At the top of this dead oak was carved a face and the dead limbs of the tree mimicked arms. There were many locals disappointed when it was cut down.
