Béla Fleck

Béla Fleck (or Béla Fleck and the Flecktones) is another example of jazz fusion, where jazz's complex style and harmony are blended with other styles of music such as bluegrass. Not only does Béla Fleck incorporate the banjo but also the fiddle into "Blue Mountain Hop." This track, first recorded onto the album The Bluegrass Sessions, integrates  a trio of distinct, renowned fiddlers—Vassar Clements, Stuart Duncan and Mark Schatz—who trade virtuoso solos and provide textural backing alongside his banjo.

Bluegrass afficionados might be inclined to label "Blue Mountain Hop" under the bluegrass genre whereas jazz afficionados might differ. What do you think?
