Most Memorable Moments For Finds #250-500.

Below is a list of some of my more memorable experiences during this time period. This list is not a "best quality caches" list, but a "best of moonsocket's experiences" list.  Enjoy.

Oh the memories...

#258 - 02/23/2011  - Shammis Island

At the height of my early caching craze, I decided to brave 20km of ice road for nothing more than an FTF. I was raised in the GTA, so driving a frozen lake was new to me...was great fun!

#291 - 05/03/2011  - Hydro Piccolo North: a Genteel water cache

Came here as an early cacher and think I logged a DNF. "cache must be gone" I said. What a noob log.... Upon return, I realized the item that confused me the first time was the cache itself! and to get to the log was an even tougher challenge. Love this cache.

#318 - 07/06/2011 - Red, Green or Blue Ball

A lovely old 'rail trail' walk with wagon full of kiddies. Cool multicache puzzle too! I also found an old 1950 licence plate alongside the trail, and took it back to Kenora, and made it into cache C81288

#326 - 07/15/2011 - Port Arthur Courthouse Fossil Hunt

So I was sweating my face off, while holding a screaming 2 year old, during a wedding ceremony, in the church across the street.  Once we all spilled out for family photos, I darted out with the wailing one to browse the walls here. |Was a great escape and a great place cache listing !!!!

#333 - 07/18/2011 - Geocache--Canada's 1st geocache

Yes. On a trip to Lunenburg, I had the opportunity to get the first Cache in Canada, found just on Exit 7. Could not-not stop, obviously... never seen a geotrial so worn.. great cache. OHMIC (big player in MB) just happened to be there the day after me. small world.

#334 - 07/19/2011 - Old House Road

A beautiful beach, with many memories of family. Would stop here often, even before I was geocaching. I was happy to find, even this place had a little hidden secret.

#337 - 07/20/2011 - Crescent Beach Sand Dunes

Another beautiful beach, where you can drive your cars right out along the kilometres of sand...  You could fly a kite all day here (we did) .

#343 - 07/22/2011 - PS48: A Toast to Puzzles

I love puzzle caches. I think the extra work makes the find that much more rewarding. I like my caching to be rewarding, not boring. This FANTATSIC Puzzle series is a must for anyone who like puzzles. This cacher has laid out over 50 puzzles down a rail trail. I walked it for a dozen of them, but you could easily scoop all 50 on a bicycle.. Maybe someday I'll get back there to finish the trail. Puzzle power trails are awesome.

 #348 - 07/23/2011 - Locks of the Shubenacadie Canal

Just a beautiful abandoned place. The Maritimes are full of em. I lure of old history never ceases in me. Loved it. My first (and still so far only) Whereigo too.

#355 - 07/23/2011 - Electric Company (Monopoly Series)

This was another excellent series, or "power trail" of sorts. It had a cache for every place on the board, puzzles for railroads, etc. Too bad he placed it down a road with private property on either side. Eventually, when residents caught word of them, they wanted them removed. Shame. Glad I got to experience it before it ended.

#390 - 07/28/2011 - Journey Through Time

Again, I love abandoned places. this one was no different. An eerie old  home from the 40's I presume, on the edge of the ocean. The inside was fully furnished, with children's toys on the floor and pots on the stove.. just a forgotten (but not forgotten) place. It had such an eerie feeling. it was a great place for a cache.

#407 - 08/08/2011 - Dagimabrop

The very day I bought our new car ( first new-new car ever) I took it down a gravel logging road for the FTF, to the point where trees where brushing either side of the little hatchback, and the bottom was almost scraping the road,  as I traversed the muddy holes. We made it. the end of the line. A great, (tense) FTF run.

#417 - 10/08/2011 - Two Bugs No Rug

JB invited me to go grab the FTF together here. He brought the mountain bikes, I brought the inexperience. We had a great time cycling out there. He was a hawk eye of a cacher. Out of 20, or more finds that day, this was the only one I beat him to. :)

#424 - 10/08/2011 - Rainbow's End

During this time, I had a thing for old caches. This one is the oldest in the area, placed in 2002, and still going. Me and JB made an enjoyable hike out to it to find it, after it had been archived, then found, and unachieved a year earlier.

#448 - 06/16/2012 - Experimental Lakes Area -TCDNON

Love the ELA. Love giant boulders. Love ammo cans. Love Trans Can park and grabs. What's not to love?

#444 - 06/26/2012 - Emerson-Lands and Forests

This is a great "old highway" series.  beautiful 3km walk down abandoned paved highway. been out here a number of times, with beancakes in the winter, hiking across lakes for DNFs, and in the summer, rounding up a series of FTFs. Great place.

#447 - 07/05/2012 - Harbour View From Up High

Hauled my 3 year old up a hill that was a lot bigger than it looked, while company and family waited in the parking lot below. I was amazed my tot could keep up, and be patient while I pushed us both up the slopes. It's a nice view up there, and now nice memories too.

#469 - 07/24/2012 - North FORTy #2

Another example of a hill climb hike, where my 3 year old impressed me. I committed in my mind to carrying him out, but never had to, or have to. He's awesome. Nice walk too.

#495 - 08/01/2012 - The Mug!

A quick visit to meet Gheiny lead to a quick tour of Kakabeka's top caches. This one was one of them. A great idea I should 'steal' Best 'log sheet' ever. :)

#496 - 08/01/2012 - A True Riddle

Gheiny also showed me ChrisDom's riddler. And he was amused by my inability to crack the code. He finally helped me out, with a smirk. lol.  I big old cache. Cool Container.

#497 - 08/01/2012 - Drive You Batty

And speaking of cool containers. Check out GHeiny's brain buster here. Had me stumped. Luckily the CO was there to help again. lol. Great cache!

#500 - 08/03/2012 - GPS Adventures Canada - Dynamic Earth

My 500th find was a special GPS Adventure exhibit in Sudbury Ontario. It was a cool exhibit. Even say shroomazooms face on the wall, along with many other familiar names on the display.
