Visited 3/1/2024 Wombatwandering took it to 30th February! London, United Kingdom - .64 miles  Visit Log

Pinch and a punch, it’s March. A quick trip into London for an event outside St Paul’s Cathedral. The present church was built in 1710. At 111m high, it was the tallest building in London from 1710 to 1963. ⛪️

Visited 2/29/2024 Wombatwandering took it to City of London Leap Evening Event London, United Kingdom - 3.69 miles  Visit Log

It’s February 29! Leap Year Day. You started the day at a midnight event but while everyone else was going icon crazy, I had to go to work. Then it was onto the tube to host the the City of London Leap Day event is a pub that used to be a bank. It was a great space but super busy. And that’s it for another four years! 4️⃣

Visited 2/28/2024 Wombatwandering took it to War Memorial #2007 ~ Anzac - Battersea London, United Kingdom - 7.13 miles  Visit Log

A day of muddy walking on Wimbledon Common and then an event in London. This cache near Battersea Power Station was still unfound when I headed home so thought I’d try my luck since it relates to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC). I find these war memorials quite emotional, so many young people from my country killed and injured so far from their home.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
    We will remember them. 😢

Visited 2/27/2024 Wombatwandering took it to Arboreal Wombat London, United Kingdom - 8.49 miles  Visit Log

Visitors gone, work nearly finished, time for you to start packing your suitcase. I took you for a stroll along the Thames Path from Chiswick to Richmond. I archived most of my caches along there. Time for a refresh. Found them all despite some recent DNFs. Stopped by the pub they used in the Ted Lasso TV show. ⚽️

Visited 2/24/2024 Wombatwandering took it to Piccadilly Circus (Virtual Reward 4.0) ツ London, United Kingdom - 5.91 miles  Visit Log

You have been hosting my Finnish exchange student “brother” (and family) who I still see regularly - helps that I moved closer to him. Not much time for caching but managed to grab this new virtual as we passed through Piccadilly Circus on our way home from a big lunch. Circus here is from the Latin word meaning "circle", is a round open space at a street junction. There are no creepy clowns here but you also enjoyed a trip to Cirque du Sol Soleil at Royal Albert Hall last night so that was enough clowns for a while even if they were not the ones with red noses. 🤡

Visited 2/20/2024 Wombatwandering took it to Wooden Womble Worth a Visit London, United Kingdom - 33.59 miles  Visit Log

Out hunting for caches in the Greater Wimbledon area of London today when I spotted a famous Womble sitting on a park bench. The Wombles are fictional pointy-nosed, furry creatures created by the author Elisabeth Beresford from 1968. They live in burrows, where they aim to help the environment by collecting and recycling rubbish in creative ways. Although Wombles supposedly live in every country in the world, Beresford's stories are primarily concerned with the lives of the inhabitants of the burrow on Wimbledon Common in London, England. ♻️

Visited 2/18/2024 Wombatwandering took it to Coombe Hill (Buckinghamshire) Southern England, United Kingdom - 32.49 miles  Visit Log

I drove you to Buckinghamshire for a CITO this morning but it was cancelled while I was half way there. I diverted to Coombe Hill, a hill in The Chilterns, home of England’s oldest geocache. I’ve already found that so I concentrated on some newer ones. Got drenched by a rain storm while next to the monument. 🌧️

Visited 2/16/2024 Wombatwandering took it to Battersea Park - Millennium Arena Gym London, United Kingdom - 3.49 miles  Visit Log

I was tasked with occupying my friend today. His wife is working London and he is bored. She thought he might like to try geocaching. I knew that he would not - he hates to be dirty and loves his clothes. To be fair, he gave it a good shot while we walked around the ‘wilds’ of Battersea Park, London. Then we had a late lunch at Battersea Power Station. 🥗

Visited 2/14/2024 Wombatwandering took it to War Memorial #1989 ~ HMS Belfast London, United Kingdom - 10.81 miles  Visit Log

Happy Valentine’s Day. This is a new virtual in London so off we went to visit HMS Belfast. It is a Town-class light cruiser that was built for the Royal Navy and is now permanently moored as a museum ship on the River Thames in London and is operated by the Imperial War Museum. The ship served between 1938 and 1963 and had a speed of 59 km/h. 💝

Visited 2/13/2024 Wombatwandering took it to Church Micro 9438...Barnehurst – Methodist London, United Kingdom - 13.51 miles  Visit Log

I was tricked not taking you on a trip to Barnehurst, south London, today. “It’s a first to find”, they said. “It’s a challenge cache”, they said. “It’s a high D/T”, they said. “Bring your tree pole”, they said. Didn’t mention that I don’t qualify. So that’s my good deed for the day. 😇
