Geocachpro and I took you on a bush walk to Mt Nelse, one of the highest peaks in Victoria. You enjoyed the views over to Mt Bogong (Victoria’s highest mountain), Falls Creek Ski Resort, and even beautiful Mt Feathertop. I miss this area a lot. ⛰

Turned off the Hume Highway at Wodonga and headed into Mt Beauty, a skiing, hiking, and mountain biking town in the Victorian High Country. It’s home to my good friends. I’ve never noticed this undie wall in all my time coming here and there were no undies to be seen today. Still, I felt it was another excellent Australian cultural icon for GeocachPro to enjoy. My friends assure me the undies turn up toward the end of the ski season before they are cleared off.🩲

A real cultural highlight this one. The Ettamogah Pub started life as a cartoon with lots of crazy things going on within the one image. Then someone had the idea to turn it into a real pub but looking identical to the one in the cartoon which is built with some exaggerated angles and the like. Had a quick stop here before driving through Albury and over the border between New South Wales and Victoria. 🍺

I’m continuing GeocachPro’s education in Australian cultural icons. We took a rest break at the Dog on the Tuckerbox statue (‘5 miles from Gundagai’). It’s from a well known Australian poem, actually the poem is barely know but the line about the dog has become iconic. Just nearby is a large koala statue that you can stand inside. Real Australian treasures!!!! 🐶

This was creepy wasteland when I lived in Narrabundah but they’ve done an excellent job rehabilitating the area into wetlands. The birds love it and so do the dog walkers. Some really excellent duck ponds here. Pity no one has done a duck ponds of Narrabundah lab series. 🦆
