California residents: opting-out of the sale of your personal information

Because the term “sale” is defined broadly under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), we want to be clear about the ways in which we share information that may be considered a sale under California’s privacy law.

Under CCPA, information we share with Geocaching Authorized Developers for the purpose of creating a broader ecosystem of geocaching applications and websites is considered a “sale” of personal information.
  3. Choose Cookies and select the option to withdraw your consent for advertising cookies. The ads that help support free use of the website are also considered a “sale” under CCPA because the third-party ad networks responsible for the ads use cookies to help serve content that may be targeted to you.
