Visited 3/7/2026 Throsbyonchurch took it to Trigpoint Scenes 1 Tasmania, Australia - miles  Visit Log

There is something deeply satisfying about standing at Trigpoint Scenes 1, pretending I’m a Victorian surveyor instead of just a person with a smartphone and a mild obsession with Tupperware. I climbed up here to commune with the brass and concrete, and the 'scenes' certainly didn't disappoint. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to squint heroically into the middle distance while calculating the curvature of the Earth—or at least calculating how long it will take to get back to the car. The trig point stood its ground, and so did I. A classic find that reminds me why we bother to climb things in the first place. Logged and looking for the next peak!

Visited 3/7/2026 Throsbyonchurch took it to [EC-122] The Dolerite Columns of Mount Wellington Tasmania, Australia - 17.87 miles  Visit Log

Drove up to see [EC-122] The Dolerite Columns of Mount Wellington. It is surprisingly easy to get a good look at the dolerite formations right from the road without having to go trekking. Standing amidst the "Organ Pipes" of kunanyi / Mount Wellington is a humbling experience. These dolerite columns, formed by cooling magma roughly 180 million years ago. The contrast between the dark, vertical stone and the sweeping views across Hobart and the Derwent River is breathtaking.

    Welcome to the Tassie Event
What a fantastic way to kick off the trip! It was great to catch up with some familiar faces. The energy here is infectious, and it’s the perfect launchpad for a Tasmanian adventure. Trackables came along to enjoy the social atmosphere before heading out into the wild.

Visited 3/6/2026 Throsbyonchurch took it to Pulpit Rock - Lower Derwent Valley Tasmania, Australia - 12.15 miles  Visit Log

Pulpit Rock – Lower Derwent Valley
The climb in the car was well worth it for those sweeping views across the Derwent. It’s a peaceful spot to stop and appreciate the landscape. You can hear all the goings on below up here, people yelling, cars driving, dogs barking – a very preculiar experience. The trackables enjoyed the fresh air and the vantage point over the valley.

Visited 3/5/2026 Throsbyonchurch took it to Mt Wellington Tasmania, Australia - 25.03 miles  Visit Log

    Mount Wellington
Didn’t managed to catch a break in the clouds for some truly epic views. It’s always a bit of a wild climate up here, but that’s all part of the Kunanyi experience. The trackables took in the sights from the summit before we retreated to warmer altitudes. It was windy, foggy, and freezing up here. Down in the city and surrounds it is much warmer for a tshirt.

Visited 3/5/2026 Throsbyonchurch took it to The Coal Mines Historic Site Tasmania, Australia - .12 miles  Visit Log

    The Coal Mines Historic Site
A sobering but fascinating walk through the ruins. There is so much history etched into these stones. It was a privilege to explore the site and learn more about the early days of the Tasman Peninsula. Trackables visited the old structures with me.

Visited 3/5/2026 Throsbyonchurch took it to The warmth from an ancient sun ☀️ Tasmania, Australia - 8.07 miles  Visit Log

The warmth from an ancient sun ☀️
An excellent EarthCache that really makes you look closely at the geological history beneath your feet. The rock formations here are stunning and the educational aspect was top-notch. Trackables took a moment to bask in the history of the site. The convicts had a very harsh life here, but could escape the harshness for a few moments looking out across the bay.

Visited 3/5/2026 Throsbyonchurch took it to NUBEENA MEMORIAL - Virtual Reward 3.0 Tasmania, Australia - 7.73 miles  Visit Log

    Numbeena Memorial
A very respectful placement. It was a quiet moment of reflection while taking in the local history of the area.

Visited 3/5/2026 Throsbyonchurch took it to South Tasmania 1 Tasmania, Australia - 11.23 miles  Visit Log

    South Tasmania 1
Continuing the journey south! The scenery keeps getting better as the roads wind through the coastal scrub. Trackables are enjoying the southern hospitality. A stunning coastline and a beautiful location down in the Remarkable Rock.

Visited 3/5/2026 Throsbyonchurch took it to Devils Kitchen Tasmania, Australia - .15 miles  Visit Log

    Devils Kitchen
The sheer scale of the cliffs here is breathtaking. Watching the swells crash into the chasm is a reminder of how powerful the Southern Ocean can be. Trackables hung out securely in my pack while I admired the drop.
