Geocache Description:

THE CODE (date) was 12-01-00 for Arrow of Light


Winter Friendly (as usual)

Follow the rules for the near by cache(s)

Keep the final location out of your logs (as usual)


Arrow of Light is the highest rank earned as a Cub Scout. So this one was placed in an area appropriate for the rank.
There is a climb involved, But it is worth it.

 The Difficulty and Terraine rating is based on a combination of this cache and the previous caches in the series since you needed to find all of them. Congratulations for all of you who have reached this point.

THE SERIES
 Our family has been involved in Scouting since 1997. This series is a mix of Scouting and Caching.
You MUST earn each rank in order, so that is why all but Tiger will be Mystery caches.
The series will be open to all Premier Members only. This will reflect the “Dues” the Scouts contribute to the program.
You will need to gather the "Advancement Clue" in the cache to help solve the next one and so on.
Look inside the cover and in the log book for the Advancement Clue for the next cache.
As you progress, just like in scouting, the ranks will get more involved to earn.
We will not be focusing on all of the BSA requirements for the caches, BUT we will be focusing on some of them to "EARN" your GEO-RANK.

REQUIREMENTS for BSA ARROW OF LIGHT

1 - - Be active in your Webelos den for at least six months since completing the fourth grade (or for at least six months since becoming 10 years old), and earn the Webelos badge.
2 - - Show your knowledge of the requirements to become a Boy Scout by doing all of these:
Repeat from memory and explain in your own words the Scout Oath, Scout Law, Scout motto, Scout slogan, Scout sign, salute, and Scout handshake.
Understand the significance of the First Class Scout badge. Describe its parts and tell what each stands for.
Tell how a Boy Scout uniform is different from a Webelos Scout uniform.
Tie the joining knot (square knot)
3 - - Earn five more activity badges in addition to the three you already earned for the Webelos badge.
4 - - With your Webelos den, visit at least one Boy Scout troop meeting, and one Boy Scout-oriented outdoor activity.
5 - - Participate in a Webelos overnight campout or day hike.
6 - - After you have completed all five of the above requirements, and after a talk with your Webelos den leader, arrange to visit, with your parent or guardian, a meeting of a Boy Scout troop you think you might like to join. Have a conference with the Scoutmaster.
7 - - Complete the Honesty Character Connection.

GEO-SCOUT REQUIREMENTS
 Not all Webelos will earn the Arrow of Light. But I feel confident that all of the Geo-Scouts will. As long as you are PREPARED you will be fine.

For this rank we will focus on Requirement #5 - - Participate in a Webelos overnight campout or day hike.
