This cache has been archived.

76-CJ7: The Geo-Scout series is almost four years old.
Although TIGER still got found from time to time the rest of the series does not.

Some of the caches will remain as stand along.
I will post the "code" (actually the date our son made that rank) on the cache page in case it is needed.

Thanks for visiting and Happy Trails

Geocache Description:

Posted Coords are fake and you will not find the cache there, BUT you will find a great view of this great city.
Bring the kids.

THE CODE (date) was 03-12-01

It has been brought to my attention that I made a mistake in writing the code for SCOUT in the back of the log book at AoL. Not sure when I will get there to correct so I will post here that there is a slight problem. I will say that I transposed C and D. (C actually is the same as F). I appoligize for the error.

CACHE LOGGING REQUIREMENTS

Find "GEO-SCOUTS - ARROW OF LIGHT" and get the advancement code to solve the coordinates for this cache. AB-CD-EF.

Since Scout is the fist rank in the "Boy Scout" Ranks I will come up with a way that incase you did not finish the "Cub Scout"ranks you can start this one without having to complete those (Coming Soon)

(Don't forget to get the Advancement code for TENDERFOOT)

THE SERIES

Our family has been involved in Scouting since 1997. This series is a mix of Scouting and Caching.

You MUST earn each rank in order, so that is why all of the other caches in the series will be Mystery caches.
The series will be open to all Premier Members only. This will reflect the “Dues” the Scouts contribute to the program.
You will need to gather the "Advancement Clue" in the cache to help solve the next one and so on.
Look inside the cover of the log book for the Advancement Clue for the next cache. As you progress, just like in scouting, the ranks will get more involved to earn.

We will not be focusing on all of the BSA requirements for the caches, BUT we will be focusing on some of them to "EARN" your GEO-RANK.

REQUIREMENTS for BSA SCOUT

To earn the "Scout" badge the boy must complete these requirements.
Although a lot of people I have noticed don't recognise "Scout" as
a Rank, but the Scout does have to complete the following.

1. Meet age requirements: Be a boy who has completed the fifth
grade and be at least 10 years old, or be 11 years old, or have
earned the Arrow of Light Award and be at least 10 years old, and
be under 18 years old.

2. Complete a Boy Scout application and health history signed by
your parent or guardian.

3. Find a Scout troop near your home. (To find a troop, contact
your local Boy Scout Council. The Council name, address and phone
number can be found on BSA's Council Locator Page.)

4. Repeat the Pledge of Allegiance.

5. Demonstrate the Scout sign, salute, and handshake.

6. Demonstrate tying the square knot (a joining knot).

7. Understand and agree to live by the Scout Oath or Promise, Law,
motto, and slogan, and the Outdoor Code.
8. Describe the Scout badge.
9. Complete the Pamphlet Exercises. With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet "How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide".

10. Participate in a Scoutmaster conference. Turn in your Boy
Scout application and health history form signed by your parent or
guardian, then participate in a Scoutmaster conference.

GEO-SCOUT REQUIREMENTS

Please post in your logs what you think the "GEO SCOUT PROMISE, should be.
Remember this will be the one for the "Boy Scout Ranks".
I will read through them and post the best one or a combination of them as the one that we will use for this series.
