How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at posted coords.
However this area is where I did my first camping on my own at about 12-13 years old. We use to ride our bikes here and camp overnight. The cache is somewheres in this area and parking is available at boat launch / beach area.

Please rehide for it not to be seen by those pesky muggles.

This is not a tough cache to get to just like the trail to Tenderfoot. The requirements expose the scout to many things that they will learn more about down the trail to Eagle.

The First Six to sign the log will have a small take home prize.
Please just one per Cacher name.

THE SOLUTION

THE CODE (date) for Tenderfoot is 05-21-01

N = 4 3 (E+A) (C-D) . (D*D) (B-C-E) (B-D+F)
W = 7 1 3 (B-F) . (D-F) (C*C) (C+D)

You can check your answers for this puzzle on

CACHE LOGGING REQUIREMENTS

Find "GEO-SCOUTS - SCOUT" and get the advancement code to solve the coordinates for this cache. AB-CD-EF.

To log this cache you will need to find two other caches first.

Please add the dates that you found the two following caches.
(or the date that you had it published)

The Merit Badge Challenge

As a new scout you need to be thinking about all of the merit badges that are out there to work on. Start this journey at the Merit Badge Challenge.
To log that cache there is no requirement to actually place a cache BUT if you want please do. The more merit badges there are the better.)

Hiking Merit Badge

I know that normally merit badges aren't required for the rank of Tenderfoot, BUT this is the first merit badge my son started to work on as a Tenderfoot Scout. The funny part of the story is that he never actually officially finished it until one week before his 18th birthday.
Please mention that to him if you ever run into him.
(I would of done the camping merit badge but that one is not a cache as of yet)

(Don't forget to get the Advancement code for SECOND CLASS)

GEO-SCOUT REQUIREMENTS

We will be focusing on the camping requirement of the Tenderfoot scout. While earning this rank the scout may experience there very first camping adventure. Many things might of went wrong but a lot was learned in the process. The older, more experienced scouts helped the new scout during this campout and also taught him how to avoid it on future adventures.

THE SERIES

Our family has been involved in Scouting since 1997. This series
is a mix of Scouting and Caching.

You MUST earn each rank in order, so that is why all of the other
caches in the series will be Mystery caches.

The series will be open to all Premier Members only. This will
reflect the “Dues” the Scouts contribute to the program.

You will need to gather the "Advancement Clue" in the cache to help
solve the next one and so on.

Look inside the cover of the log book for the Advancement Clue for
the next cache. As you progress, just like in scouting, the ranks
will get more involved to earn.

We will not be focusing on all of the BSA requirements for the
caches, BUT we will be focusing on some of them to "EARN" your
GEO-RANK.
