Save the date: World Postcard Day is October 1!
Geocaching and postcards are a perfect match.
Receiving a postcard and finding a geocache are more complementary than you might think. Each offers a meaningful way to connect people through discovery.
From hidden caches to handwritten notes, both geocaching and postcards foster connection, turning strangers into fellow explorers, sparked by curiosity and a sense of adventure. The best part is getting the chance to meet people from around the world who share the same excitement. Postcards and geocaches connect us to our community and make the world we explore feel just a little bit closer.
Did you know there’s an official day to celebrate postcards? October 1 is World Postcard Day! This day began in 2019 to mark the 150th anniversary of the postcard. Every year, postcard enthusiasts gather to celebrate the occasion, creating special postcards and stamps!

World Postcard Day 2025 is coming up, and we’re excited to announce a souvenir to honor the occasion! Celebrate with us by attending an Event and posting an Attended log on any Event from September 28 to October 4, 2025. All Events, including Community Celebration Events and Block parties, count for the souvenir!
Remember, if you’re hosting an Event, it needs to be submitted at least two weeks before the Event date and meet all geocaching guidelines.
