Geocache Description:

Event is on
Saturday
Meet, greet, prepare: 10:00am - 10:30am
Hike: 10:30am - 9pm

As per Groundspeak guidelines the main event takes place from 10:00am-10:30am at the posted coordinates. The hike activity will start at 10:30am for those that are interested.

Goal: To hike the next 37km of the Peninsula section of the Bruce Trail. The Peninsula section is a total of 165.1km in length.

This is the 25th Bruce Trail hike in this series of BT events. My plan is to complete my goal of finishing the entire Bruce Trail by my 50th birthday.

If you can't make the entire hike, maybe join us for part of it. You can always drop out along the way if you feel it's too difficult or too long. Or just meet at at the beginning to say hi and see us off.

Meet at 10:00am at the posted coordinates, which is the 60.2km mark (Edition 28 of Bruce Trail guide) of the Peninsula section of the Bruce Trail which is at the corner of Rush Cove Rd and Scenic Caves Rd (N44 56.681 W81 09.904). We plan to start hiking around 10:30am.

Destination is the 97.2km mark (Edition 28 of Bruce Trail guide) of the Peninsula section of the Bruce Trail which is at a short 50m access trail that leads to the south end of Carter Rd (N45 05.537 W81 16.372).

Parking: Beginning: Roadside parking along Richardson Rd (South of Scenic Caves Rd). Parking is not allowed on Scenic Caves Rd or Rush Cove Rd. End: Roadside parking at the south end of Carter Rd (N45 05.560 W81 16.340).
Hopefully some people will park at the end and carpool back to the starting point both before and after the hike. It's about a 25 minute drive from the end point to the start point.

What you should bring: Water and other drinks. Food for lunch, dinner and snacks. GPS. Maps. Camera. Cell Phone. First Aid Kit. Pain Killers. Flashlight. Extra Batteries.
It might be wise to stash some supplies at certain locations of your choice along the trail so that you don't have to carry everything with you.

Badges: Those of us that complete this hike along with the other hikes in the Peninsula section will qualify for the Peninsula End To End badge for hiking the entire Peninsula Section of the Bruce Trail. For more information and to obtain a badge, see this Peninsula Bruce Trail Club link.
