This cache has been archived.

res2100: This was another enjoyable hike and far from the most difficult compared to what the guide said. Enjoyed the view and friends who accompanied me.

Geocache Description:

Event is on
Saturday
Meet, greet, prepare: 10:30am - 11:00am
Hike: 11:00am - 8:00pm

The main event takes place from 10:30am-11:00am at the posted coordinates. The hike activity will start at 11:00am for those that are interested.

Goal: To hike the next 31km of the Peninsula section of the Bruce Trail. The Peninsula section is a total of 165.7km in length.

This is the 27th Bruce Trail hike in this series of BT events. If you can't make the entire hike, maybe join us for part of it or just meet at at the beginning to say hi and see us off.

Meet at 10:30am at the posted coordinates, which is the 126.6km mark (Edition 28 of Bruce Trail guide) of the Peninsula section of the Bruce Trail which is at the National Park gate where Crane Lake Rd meets the forest access road (N45 11.447 W81 25.191). We plan to start hiking around 11:00am.

Destination is the 157.6km mark (Edition 28 of Bruce Trail guide) of the Peninsula section of the Bruce Trail which is at a small parking lot off of Little Cove Rd (N45 14.825 W81 36.925).

Parking: Beginning: Roadside parking near the National Park Gate (N45 11.447 W81 25.191). Park well away from the farm and park gates to avoid blocking farm and emergency vehicles. End: Small parking lot off of Little Cove Rd (N45 14.825 W81 36.925).
Hopefully some people will park at the end and carpool back to the starting point both before and after the hike. It's about a 30 minute drive from the end point to the start point.

What you should bring: Water and other drinks. Food for lunch, dinner and snacks. GPS. Maps. Camera. Cell Phone. First Aid Kit. Pain Killers. Flashlight. Extra Batteries.

Badges: Those of us that complete this hike along with the other hikes in the Peninsula section will qualify for the Peninsula End To End badge for hiking the entire Peninsula Section of the Bruce Trail. For more information and to obtain a badge, see this Peninsula Bruce Trail Club link.
