Fourteenth in the Ring Quest series.

This is the fourteenth cache of Ring Quest, a twenty-cache series inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.

Ring Quest XIV: The Seven: Stiffbeards

The Stiffbeards are another of the seven Dwarven clans of which little is known. It is possible that the Stiffbeards were among the "Houses of other Fathers" who sent troops to help Durin's folk (The Longbeards) in the War of the Dwarves and Orcs. Dwarves did not figure prominently in the major battles of the War of the Ring. One dwarf, however—Gimli—joined the Fellowship of the Ring and was a companion of the Ringbearer for a great part of his journey, and also fought at the Battle of Hornburg, the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, and the Battle of the Morannon.

Park at the suggested coordinates and hike about a quarter mile to the cache. Be sure to bring bug repellant in mosquito season! In addition to the log book and swag, the cache contains information you will need to find the final cache of the One Ring. (The variables are letters from Khuzdûl, Tolkien’s Dwarvish alphabet.)
