Tips for sticking to your geocaching goals in 2024
Setting goals can be easy. You sit back and dream up all the amazing adventures you want to have and geocaches you want to find and, before you know it, you have a long list of what you want to achieve. However, sticking to those goals can be harder. We’re sharing tips to help you stay on top of your geocaching goals for 2024.
Keep your goals manageable
It’s tempting to set ambitious goals that could lead to impressive personal records or achievements, but the more difficult a goal is, the harder it is to stick to. Set yourself up for success by picking goals that are challenging and manageable. For example, instead of trying to keep a find-streak going for a whole month, try to complete a find-streak that’s five days longer than your current record.
Focus your goals around your favorite parts of geocaching
When you’re planning what you want to achieve in geocaching this year, it’s important to remember why you got into geocaching in the first place. Think about your favorite parts of geocaching. If your favorite part is the community and friends you’ve made, try setting a goal for attending and hosting Events. If you love finding creative caches, set a goal for finding more gadget caches and large-size caches.
Find an accountability geo-buddy
As the saying goes, two heads are better than one, and that’s certainly true when it comes to staying on top of goals. When keeping up with your goals gets difficult, it helps to have a friend you can check in with who can give you a friendly nudge when you need motivation or join you out on the trail.
