How to host a great World Postcard Day Event

This year, we’re celebrating both the geocaching and postcard communities with World Postcard Day!

To mark the date and earn this special souvenir, attend any geocaching Event from September 29 to October 5, 2024.

In preparation for World Postcard Day festivities, we put together a guide on how to make your postcard-themed Events a success!

Get Crafty

Grab your favorite decorative paper, stickers, and washi tape, and host a postcard-making session.

Feeling extra creative? Try making postcards out of recycled materials—the possibilities are endless! Be sure to follow the postcard size and stamp guidelines from your country’s postal service.

Download and print these postcards with your local printing shop or an online printing service. Make sure the paper you use is thick enough to send! Check with your local postal service for the required dimensions.

More Decor!

World Postcard Day is a celebration of community far and wide. There are countless ways to make your Event unique by getting in the postcard spirit.

Make a banner out of postcards, create stamp-shaped name tags for attendees, or create a giant postcard logbook. With some paper and a little creativity, you can make your event truly memorable!

Find a Penpal

Every postcard needs a recipient! Consider setting up a penpal swap for interested attendees. They can connect with local geocachers at the Event, check out postcard exchange websites like Postcrossing, or even meet geocachers at a World Postcard Day Event in another part of the world.

If you have postcards handy at the Event, even your logbook can be on the go!
