That’s a wrap on World Postcard Day!
Between September 29 and October 5, over 18,000 geocachers attended Events around the world to celebrate postcards and geocaching! Attended logs and postcards are still rolling in, but here are a few of our favorite postcard-worthy moments so far.
This year, we’re celebrating both the geocaching and postcard communities with World Postcard Day!
To mark the date and earn this special souvenir, attend any geocaching Event from September 29 to October 5, 2024.
In preparation for World Postcard Day festivities, we put together a guide on how to make your postcard-themed Events a success!
Large geocaching gatherings such as Mega- and Giga-Events draw hundreds and thousands of attendees throughout the year. We checked in with Emily W., HQ’s Community Special Events Manager, to learn more about big events, including Block Parties that are now being planned for 2025!

Happy Pi Day, geocachers!
We could go around in circles explaining why this special date brings joy to so many people.
Rather than celebrate the first three digits of the numeral pi or the baked dessert by the same name, we decided to graph our excitement this year with pie charts!

On August 20, 2022, thousands of geocachers and explorers gathered in Seattle, Washington, to celebrate over 20 years of geocaching. In the works since 2019, we could hardly contain our excitement to meet everyone and host this Event.
