A recap of our first 2025 hiding theme: frogs! 🐸

In 2025, we’re celebrating a major milestone—25 years of geocaching! To mark this special anniversary, we’re introducing a new hiding theme per quarter to celebrate geocaches published in 2025. Every three months, we’ll feature geocaches from that quarter’s theme on the Geocaching Blog and social media.

We received so many nominations for our first hiding theme, frogs, that it was difficult to choose just a few to share!

Take a look at some of the caches that “leapt” out to us:

We’ve all heard the story of the frog prince. But searching for him, canister by canister? That’s a whole new challenge!

That’s not a cone at all… that’s “Japanese Signal!” Have fun finding the logbook in this adorable and cleverly-disguised version of Signal the Frog®.

Where can you expect to find a frog? Why, on a lilypad, of course! This cache will require you to get your hands wet as you reel in your find.

This shows that Cache In Trash Out® Events can be beyond litter cleanup! This semiannual Event works with an organization to build ‘frog fences,’ structures that keep frogs away from busy highways near their habitat.

Fly Boy is a testament to building community after disaster. After a series of hurricanes, cache owners Perez8 CITO’d their way to something fun by creating this masterpiece from garage coach lights, roof soffit, fence post caps, tire lug nuts, trailer bearings, and rebar.Now that’s pretty fly!


These ambitious amphibians were a great way to kick off our 2025 Hiding Themes!
