This month’s Adventure Lab Spotlight is a dream come true for animal lovers. The Adventure, Djuren i Slottsskogen /The animals in Slottsskogen, guides explorers through Slottskogens djurpark, an almost 150-year-old zoo in the historic Slottskogen park in Gothenburg, Sweden. Get to know reindeer, seals, and ponies as you explore the open-air zoo and complete the Adventure.

The sequential Adventure takes place entirely in the Park’s zoo, which is free to visit. At each Location you’ll learn about a species of animal that lives in the zoo. The Adventure starts with a visit to the zoo’s common seal, a species native to Sweden. If you’re lucky, you might arrive at feeding time and get to see the seals savoring some seafood.

After finding the information to answer the Location’s question, you’ll meander through the zoo enjoying the exhibits and answering questions at Locations with penguins, reindeer, elk, and ponies. On a sunny day, it makes for a lovely and educational walk.

The Adventure takes less than an hour to complete, so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the other parts of Slottsskogen after learning about the animals at the zoo. Discover an astronomical observatory, climb the park’s lookout tower, visit Gothenburg’s natural history museum, and so much more. There is even another Adventure you can complete!
