Lake Brombach’s shore in Germany is a perfect location for classic beach activities like building sandcastles, stacking stone towers, and drawing smiley faces in the sand. And, of course, it’s also a great spot for geocaching.
Hidden not far from the sand beaches is a geocache masterpiece just waiting for the next geocacher to find.
To find the cache, you have to turn off the lakeside path, as the posted coordinates do not indicate the cache location. To solve this Mystery Cache and locate the final coordinates, geocachers must solve the following simple riddle: Who originally authored the English poem, “Footprints in the Sand?”
A: Margaret Fishback Powers
B: Charles Haddon Spurgeon
C: Carl Olof Rosenius

Depending on the answer chosen, check the cache page for the corresponding reference point.
If you chose the correct answer, follow these directions to the cache:
1. Follow an unpaved forest track about 42 feet (13 meters) north from the bike path
2. Then follow a faint path about 49 feet (15 meters) east

To open: Turn the top level counterclockwise until it stops. Pull the screw up until it stops. Do not turn the screw, only pull it up! Turn the top level further.
To close: Turn the lower level past the detent. The screw locks automatically. Turn the upper level clockwise to cover the screw.
The cache owner Johannis10 has some tips to help you avoid injury to yourself and the cache. Please observe the following:
Never insert objects or fingers into cracks or crevices. Proceed slowly and gently, without using force. Do not dig, unscrew anything, lift stones, and supervise children.

Just as the name of the cache indicates, geocachers should leave nothing but footprints in the sand and their username in the logbook, of course. Where will your footprints take you next?
