Snag the Tag: Geocaching High and Low
Looking for even more location-based game opportunities? Well, we’ve got news for you! Snag the Tag has a new game starting on November 19. Launched in 2018 by two avid geocachers, Snag the Tag is an outdoor activity similar to geocaching with a competitive edge. Like geocaching, there are hiders and finders. A hider purchases a hider packet from Shop Geocaching or a participating distribution partner and then hides the tags from their packet. The finders sign up at Snag the Tag to learn the locations of the hides and then it’s a race to find the hidden tags (note: the tags are not placed in geocaches).

Snag the Tag wurde 2018 von zwei begeisterten Geocachern ins Leben gerufen und ist eine Aktivität im Freien ähnlich wie Geocaching, aber mit dem Gesichtspunkt des Wettbewerbs im Vordergrund. Wie beim Geocaching gibt es Verstecker und Sucher. Ein Verstecker kauft ein Versteckerpacket von dem Geocachingshop oder einem teilnehmenden Partner und versteckt dann die Anhänger (Tags) aus diesem Paket. Die Finder melden sich bei Snag the Tag an, um die Standorte der Verstecke zu erfahren und dann findet ein Rennen statt, um die versteckten Anhänger zu finden. (Anmerkung: Die Anhänger werden nicht in Geocaches versteckt).

Lancé en 2018 par deux géocacheurs passionnés, Snag the Tag est une activité de plein air similaire au géocaching mais avec une touche de compétition. Comme en géocaching, il y a les poseurs et les trouveurs. Un poseur achète un pack depuis la Boutique Géocaching ou un partenaire et il peut alors cacher les tags contenus dans le pack. Les trouveurs s’inscrivent sur Snag the Tag pour connaitre les emplacements de poses et c’est alors la course pour trouver les tags cachés (note : les tags ne sont pas placés dans des géocaches).

Op zoek naar meer locatiegebaseerde spelmogelijkheden? Dan hebben we nieuws voor je! Er begint een nieuw Snag the Tag-spel op 19 november. Snag the Tag werd in 2018 gestart door twee fervente geocachers en is een buitenactiviteit die op geocachen lijkt, maar met een competitief randje. Zoals bij geocachen zijn er plaatsers en vinders. Een plaatser koopt een pakket om te plaatsen in de Geocachingwinkel of een deelnemende distributiepartner en verstopt dan de tag uit zijn pakket. De vinders schrijven zich in bij Snag the Tag om achter de locaties van de tags te komen en dan is het een race om de verstopte tags te vinden (let op: de tags worden niet verstopt in geocaches).
