Four fun Webcam Caches
These are four fun Webcam Caches around the world. From a cache that waited 15 years for its First to Find to a location made famous 31 years before geocaching began, these Webcam’s have earned their cumulative 2,600+ Favorite points!
Webcam Caches are a legacy type of cache. While you cannot submit new Webcam Cache pages for review, you can still find and log those that remain active. To log a Webcam Cache, take a picture of yourself using the webcam associated with the geocache and upload it with your log.
In no particular order, here are four fun Webcam Caches from around the world!
1. Antarctic Views, GCDECD
Antarctica’s only Webcam Cache is located outside the Mawson Station, one of three permanent research bases in Antarctica. This cache was placed in 2003 but had to wait 15 years for its First to Find!
2. UC IC (Canterbury), GCHTKY
Located at the University of Canterbury, this Webcam is outside the office of a friendly research engineer at the University. He encourages geocachers to say “hi,” when they stop by and has even offered to lend a hand when taking the photo!
3. London – Beatles Abbey Road, GC6F12
Come together, right now…over this geocache! Abbey Road is famously the location of the Beatles’ recording studio. It’s also home to the most Favorited Webcam cache in Europe, just down the road from the iconic zebra crossing on the cover of their Abbey Road album.
4. At the Pier, GCMKWT
As its name suggests, this Webcam is located on a Pier in San Francisco. A bustling tourist attraction, you’ll have to jostle with muggles and sea lions alike to take a good picture!
