We’re going wild for the animal-themed caches this month!

This month’s hiding theme focuses on all things furry, scaly, and feathery, as we encouraged you to share your favorite animal-themed geocaches. You really unleashed the beast this month! Take a look at just a few of the hides that we thought were ahead of the pack:

   Beep beep! This cache will have you running and scheming as you attempt to find the elusive roadrunner. Luckily this large avian landmark—made out of recycled materials—is pretty easy to spot. Don’t forget to nab the Virtual Cache while you’re there, too!

   What’s better than a series of Mystery Caches based on your knowledge of bird characteristics? Bird-shaped geo-art made up of Mystery Caches based on your knowledge of bird characteristics! This playful Brazilian series teaches players about birds as they make their way around the bird’s head and finish the series off with an eye full of Letterbox Hybrids.

3. GC5JVG9—ART Zoo-logne
   

   

   

   

   We love a mural-based Multi-Cache! This cache showcases the longest graffiti artwork in Cologne, right outside the zoo. See how many animals you can spot as you search the mural for the answers to calculate the final coordinates. Now that’s what we call wild!

4. GCAFDD1—Owl be seeing you 👀🦉📚

    

   Knock, knock! “Hoo’s” there? An adorable owl-themed geocache behind a little library! This cache can only be protected by the wisest—and cutest—of animal guardians. What a hoot!

5. GCA81JH—Til minde om Frida, Wilma og Asta
   

   

   

   This Letterbox Hybrid goes out to all the four-legged loved ones that accompany us on our geocaching adventures. To commemorate their own geo-pups, cache owner Geoborderne asks players to share stories and pictures of their dogs, and maybe even bring them along for the search.

6. GCAJ9JW—Detektiv Hornbert: Räuberhauptmann Grasel
   

   

   

   If you’re looking for a detective story where the entire cast of characters are animals, this Wherigo Cache has it all! Help Detective Hornbert (pictured above) catch the thief and return the stolen money to the townsfolk (or should we say, townsanimals?) to save the day!

7. GC8KHT7—Illspecko törrföruvedagocken
   

   

   

   Illspecko törrföruvedagocken, or the “mischievous woodpecker,” invites you to partake in this terrain 4 adventure! Will you reach its hiding spot from above, or by wading below? That’s up to you to decide, so choose wisely!

8. GC9R020—Der verrückte Eiertanz
   

   

   

   Hey everybody, it’s time to do the crazy egg dance! This dance doesn’t require music, but it does require a good deal of wit and an abundance of patience as you attempt to find the eggs from all seven stations of this chaotic Multi-Cache. The chickens won’t make it easy on you, though, so good “cluck!”

9. GCARJVZ—LLL – Märehditään hetki
   

   

   Did you know that cows can fly? They certainly can on Lehmäsaari, or “Cow Island!” Cache owners Bacajo and kattikimulit set out to share this popular Finnish idiom in a series of 18 caches across Lehmäsaari. Meet the colorful cast of cow characters as you find these adorable caches throughout the island!

10. GCAE0VT—Raelyne the Snake
    

    

    

    Raelyne the Snake might be friendly, but she’s not going to make this find an easy one! Navigate hissing vipers and solve Raelyne’s puzzle to unlock the ammo can and slither away with a new find.

This round of cache submissions had us squawking with anticipation, howling with laughter, and purring with joy at the creativity of the geocaching community!
