Renaming of maintenance log types

Cache maintenance is critical to a great geocaching experience. It’s important for cache owners to know when there may be a problem with their cache, so that they can take appropriate action. Community volunteer reviewers may also need to be made aware of important issues with geocaches.

That’s why, as part of the recently announced new geocaching and trackable logging flow, we have renamed log types that are used to report problems with caches in the Geocaching® app and on Geocaching.com so that they more accurately reflect the intent of the logs. Continue reading →

¿Dónde están los DNFs desaparecidos?

Cuando no encuentras un geocaché, ¿registras tu DNF? Para algunos geocachers, puede parecer una pregunta capciosa, porque por supuesto que sí. Otros aducen cualquier número de razones para no registrar un “No lo he encontrado”. Tal vez piensan que no han pasado suficiente tiempo buscando, o sólo registran un DNF si están seguros de que el caché no está allí. Algunos temen que su registro de DNF sea el motivo del archivo de un caché. (No será así). Kde jsou chybějící DNFka?

Když keš nenajdete, logujete DNF – Nenalezeno? Některým cacherům to může připadat jako záludná otázka, protože samozřejmě logují. Jiní uvádějí řadu důvodů, proč nezalogovali “Nenalezeno”. Možná si myslí, že hledáním nestrávili dostatek času, nebo logují DNF jen tehdy, když si jsou jisti, že keš tam opravdu není. Někteří se obávají, že jejich DNF log bude důvodem pro archivaci keše. (Nebude.) Ať už jsou důvody jakékoliv, většina kačerů se shodne na tom, že mnoho DNF zůstává nezalogováno. Continue reading →
