Goblindust, también conocido como Scott Meters, ha sido miembro de geocaching durante 15 años, y escondió su prime caché el 20 de Diciembre de 2003. Desde entonces, sus cachés activos han acumulado más de 4.700 puntos favoritos. It’s the year 2650. You’re invited to join the Geocaching Discovery Club and be among the first geocachers to visit every planet in our solar system and earn souvenirs along the way.

This is how it is played

Find different types of geocache between the 19th of March and the 15th of April and individually earn points in the Friends League. Get up to ten planetary souvenirs to become an official space explorer.

Visit the Friends League to activate your scorecard and be ready for the launch on March 19th.

What is the Friends League?

The Friends League is an overview showing the geocaching activity of you and your friends. Earn points by logging a cache, attending an event, or completing another geocaching activity. The number of points varies with the completed task.

The Friends League shows the total number of points you collect during the promotion. You can also see how many points your friends collected during the action. The Friends League will be reset to zero on Monday, April 16, at 12:00 (UTC time).

How do I participate?

Visit the Friends League to activate your scorecard and be ready for the start. From March 19 to April 15, you can earn points by logging caches, attending events, or doing other geocaching activities. Earn up to 10 new souvenirs by earning 500 points in the Friends League alone during the promotion period.

Can I join the Planetary Pursuit at any time?

Naturally! If you start late, you still have the chance to earn all 10 souvenirs as long as you collect enough points by April 15th.

How can I get points?

If you log a geocache, visit an event, or perform other geocaching actions, you earn points.

Where can I see my souvenirs?

Once you have collected a certain number of points, the respective souvenir will automatically appear on your profile. The souvenirs appear on your profile under the tab Souvenirs.

Is the friend league in the Geocaching® app?

The friend league is not in the Geocaching® app , but can be viewed in the browser of your mobile phone.

Help! My friend league points are not correct.

  1. Make sure that the friends League is enabled for you, by you been to see the page before you loggst your finds.
  2. Logging a note, DNF, or other log type as found is not recognized in the Friends League.
  3. Maybe you found and logged a lab cache. At the moment, no points are awarded for finding a Lab Cache in the Friends League.
  4. You logged in on Monday, March 19, before 1:00 pm ( equivalent to 12:00 pm UTC time) . We suggest that you wait with your log until 12 o’clock UTC – in some places like New Zealand it’s midnight Tuesday – to log your geocaches. Otherwise your points do not count for the first week.
  5. You saved a draft on Monday, March 19, before 12:00 UTC.

If you have already published your logs, select “View Log / Review / Photos”, then click on the pencil icon and “Submit Entry” on the website. Your logs should now be added to the total.

What does UTC stand for?

Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is today’s world time. It is the time standard (no time zone) that is commonly used throughout the world. You can convert the UTC here to your local time .

I’ve logged a lab cache, why can not I score points in the friend league?

At the moment you do not get any points for finding Lab Caches in the Friend League.

Do I need friends in my friend league to participate in the Planetary Pursuit?

You do not need geocaching friends to get points and souvenirs for the Planetary Pursuit. But it’s still fun to have many friends in your friend league so you can cheer them on during your space exploration! Here are some tips on how to make friends in the geocaching community:

  1. Visit a geocaching event. Visiting Geocaching Events is the easiest way to make new friends in the real world. Write down your usernames and invite them to become your friends on Geocaching.com . Bonus: If you visit an event, you earn extra points. Find an event near you.
  2. Looking for a geocaching organization on site. One of the best ways to learn about geocaching and make friends is to join a geocaching organization. Find a geocaching organization near you .
  3. Search for Facebook groups in your area. There are many geocachers on Facebook who have formed local groups. Search for “Geocaching + Your Place” on Facebook and find out if there is a group of like-minded treasure hunters in your area.
  4. Share your username in the comment section of this blog entry. If others do, you can add each other as friends on Geocaching.com and find friends from around the world!

How do I add friends to my friend league?

  1. On the left side of your new dashboard or in the old version on the right
  2. Page under the “Community” section, select “Your friends”.
  3. Under “Add friend” you enter the username of a friend.
  4. Select “Send invitation”.
  5. Write a message to your friend.
  6. Select “Send friend request”.

Why is the Friendship League only showing a few of my friends?

The friend league will show you ten of your geocaching friends – always inclusive of yourself. If you want to see all your friends, then scroll down the list with your mouse and select “Show more”.

Will the points in the friend league be added up?

No, points are not added. You receive a maximum of 15 points per log entry. For example, if you find a traditional geocache with more than 10 favorite points, you will receive a total of 15 points. If you find a puzzle cache with more than 10 favorite points, you will receive a total of 15 points.

Will I receive points in the Friends League when participating in a CITO, Mega or Giga event?

Yes. Participating in each event will earn you 15 points in the friend league during the Planetary Pursuit promotion.

What is the League of Colleagues?

The League of Colleagues is a classification that shows your geocaching activity and that of your friends. You get points when you register a cache, attend an event or complete other geocaching tasks. The number of points varies according to the task performed.

The League of Colleagues shows the total points you collect during the promotion. You can also see how many points your friends have scored during that time. The League of Colleagues is set to zero on Monday, April 16 at noon UTC.

How can I participate?

Visit the League of Colleagues to activate your score control board and prepare for takeoff. Between March 19 and April 15, accumulate points registering caches, attending events or completing other geocaching actions. Get up to 10 new souvenirs through the individual collection of 500 points in the League of Colleagues during the promotion period.

Can I join the Planetary Search at any time?

Of course! If you were late to join, you would still have the chance to win the 10 souvenirs as long as you get enough points until April 15th.

  1. Be sure to activate the League of Colleagues by visiting the page once before starting to register your findings.
  2. If you change a note, DNF or other type of record to a “Found”, it will not be recognized in the League of Colleagues.
  3. You may have found and registered a Lab Cache. At the moment, the League of Colleagues does not grant points for finding laboratory Caches.

I have registered a Lab Cache, why do not I add points in the League of Colleagues?

Do I need friends in my League of Colleagues to participate in Planetary Search?


You do not need friends in Geocaching to get points and get the souvenirs of the Planetary Search. However, it’s fun to have friends in your League of Colleagues to encourage them in their space explorations! Here are some ideas on how to make friends in the Geocaching community:

  1. Attend a geocaching event. Attending events is the easiest way to make new friends in real life. Make sure you write down your usernames and invite them to be your friends at Geocaching.com . Extra: You will earn additional points by attending an event. Find events near .
  2. Search for local geocaching associations. One of the best ways to learn about geocaching and make friends is to join a Geocaching Association. Find nearby geocaching associations .
  3. Search for Facebook groups in your area. There are many geocachers on Facebook who have created local groups. Do the search for “geocaching + your location” on Facebook and find out if there is a group of treasure hunters in your area.
  4. Share your user in the comments section of this blog post. Thus, you can add each other to Geocaching.com and make friends all over the world!

How do I add friends to my League of Colleagues?

  1. On the left side of your new control panel, or in the old version, on the right side under the “Community” section, select View friends.
  2. Under Add a friend, enter your friend’s username.
  3. Select Send invitation.
  4. Write a message to your friend.
  5. Select Friend request

Why does the League of Colleagues show only one of my friends?

The League of Colleagues shows ten of your friends geocachers-always including you. If you want to see all your friends, scroll down the list and select See more.

Do the points of the League of Colleagues accumulate?

No, there is no point accumulation. The maximum number of points you choose when registering a cache is 15. For example, if you find a traditional geocache with more than 10 favorite points, you will gain 15 points in total. If you find a Mystery with more than 10 favorites, you will also add 15.

Do I get points from the League of Colleagues by attending a CITO, a Mega or a Giga Event?

Yes. Attending any type of event will add 15 points in the League of Colleagues during the Planetary Search.

Qu’est-ce que la Ligue d’Amis ?

La Ligue d’Amis est un tableau de bord qui montre votre activité en géocaching et celle de vos amis. Vous gagnez des points en loguant une cache, en participant à un Event, ou en accomplissant d’autres missions liées au géocaching. Le nombre de points peut dépendre de la mission en question.

La Ligue d’Amis indique le total des points que vous collectez en cours d’opération. Vous pouvez également y voir combien de points vos amis ont cumulés au cours de la campagne. La Ligue d’Amis sera remise à zéro lundi 16 avril à 14h.

La Ligue d’Amis figure-t-elle dans l’application Geocaching® ?

La Ligue d’Amis ne figure pas dans l’application Geocaching® mais peut être consultée depuis le navigateur Internet de votre téléphone.

Au secours, les points de ma Ligue d’Amis sont incorrects !

  1. Assurez-vous d’activer la Ligue d’Amis en vous rendant sur la page avant de commencer à loguer vos trouvailles.
  2. Si vous changez une Note, un DNF ou un autre type de log en log “Trouvée”, ce log ne sera pas reconnu par la Ligue d’Amis.
  3. Vous avez peut-être trouvé et logué une Lab cache. A l’heure actuelle, la Ligue d’Amis n’attribue pas de points pour les Lab caches trouvées.
  4. Vous avez logué lundi 19 mars avant 13h (heure française). Nous vous suggérons de ne loguer vos caches qu’APRES lundi 13h (heure française), soit mardi minuit dans certaines zones comme la Nouvelle Zélande. Sinon, les points ne compteront pas pour la première semaine.
  5. Vous avez enregistré un brouillon lundi 19 mars avant 13h heure française.

Si vous avez déjà publié vos logs, allez sur le site web et choisissez “Voir / Éditer un Log / Images”, puis cliquez sur l’icône du stylo et sur “Enregistrer”. Vos logs devraient désormais être comptabilisés dans votre total.

Pourquoi parler en heure française?

A l’heure actuelle, l’heure civile est basée sur l’heure UTC (Temps Universel Coordonné). Cette heure de référence internationale ne correspond pas à un méridien. Or l’heure française, elle, correspond au méridien de Paris (UTC +1 ou +2 selon la saison.) Vous pouvez faire la conversion en heure française vous-même ici.

J’ai logué une Lab cache, pourquoi n’ai-je pas gagné de points dans la Ligue d’Amis ?

A l’heure actuelle, la Ligue d’Amis n’attribue pas de points pour les Lab caches trouvées.

Dois-je avoir des amis dans ma Ligue d’Amis pour participer à la Poursuite Planétaire ?

Vous n’avez pas besoin d’amis géocacheurs pour collecter des points et gagner des souvenirs pour la Poursuite Planétaire. Cela dit, c’est quand même plus sympa d’avoir des amis dans sa Ligue d’Amis, afin de pouvoir les encourager dans leurs explorations spatiales ! Voici quelques idées pour vous faire des amis dans la communauté géocaching :

  1. Participez à un Event géocaching. Participer à des Events est la façon la plus rapide de se faire de nouveaux amis dans la vraie vie. Veillez à relever leur pseudo et invitez-les à devenir vos amis sur Geocaching.com. Cerise sur le gâteau, vous gagnez des points supplémentaires en participant à un Event. Trouvez un Event près de chez vous.
  2. Cherchez une organisation de géocaching dans votre coin. Une des meilleures façons de découvrir le géocaching et de se faire des amis est d’adhérer à une organisation de géocaching. Trouvez une organisation de géocaching près de chez vous.
  3. Cherchez des groupes Facebook dans votre coin. De nombreux géocacheurs ont créé des groupes locaux sur Facebook. Faites une recherche “geoaching+votre emplacement” sur Facebook et voyez si vous avez des confrères chasseurs de trésors dans la région.
  4. Partagez votre pseudo dans la zone “commentaires” de cette publication sur le blog. Si d’autres font de même, vous pourrez vous ajouter mutuellement en amis sur Geocaching.com et nouer des amitiés dans le monde entier !

Comment puis-je ajouter des amis à ma Ligue d’Amis ?

  1. Dans le menu à gauche du nouveau Tableau de bord, ou dans le menu à droite, section “Communauté”, pour l’ancienne version, choisissez “Voir vos amis”.
  2. Dans l’onglet Ajouter un ami, tapez le pseudo de votre ami.
  3. Choisissez Envoyer une demande.
  4. Tapez un message pour votre ami.
  5. Choisissez Demander en ami.

Pourquoi la Ligue d’Amis ne me montre-t-elle pas tous mes amis ?

La Ligue d’Amis montre dix de vos amis géocacheurs, toujours en vous incluant. Si vous voulez voir tous vos amis, faites défiler la liste et choisissez Voir plus.

Est-ce les points de la Ligue d’Amis se cumulent ?

Non, il n’y a pas de cumul des points. Le nombre de points max que vous pouvez remporter quel que soit le log de la cache est de 15 points. Par example, si vous trouvez une cache Traditonnelle ayant plus de 10 Points de favorite, vous gagnerez un total de 15 points. Si vous trouvez une cache Mystère ayant plus de 10 Points de favorite, vous gagnerez un total de 15 points.

Est-ce que je gagne des points sur la Ligue d’Amis en participant à un event de type CITO, Mega ou bien Giga ?

Oui, la participation à n’importe quel type d’event vous rapportera 15 points sur la Ligue d’Amis durant la Poursuite Planétaire.
