On Saturday, October 9, and Sunday, October 10, you have a unique opportunity to learn something new about our Earth and earn a souvenir! All you need to do is visit an EarthCache, complete the logging tasks, and log it online during that weekend. For this special weekend, all non-Premium EarthCaches will be available in the Geocaching App® for everyone (from 11:00:00 UTC on Friday, October 8, until 10:00:00 UTC on Monday, October 11).
Many geocachers have made their way up to the icy peak of Vinson and are now getting ready for the leaderboard reset when we set our sights on the slopes and crevasses of Elbrus, the tallest mountain in Europe. Cachers have until October 4 at noon UTC (convert to local time here) to earn the Vinson Basecamp and Summit souvenirs before the leaderboard resets to zero and we begin our ascent of Elbrus.
Sometimes, geocaches bring us to incredible destinations, challenge us physically, or include a history lesson right from the cache site.
