We’re excited to share a new look and updated functionality for Treasures!
In player feedback about Treasures, one request stood out: geocachers want more control over which Treasures they collect when they log geocaches that qualify for multiple collections. We listened and updated Treasures to give geocachers this control. Now, cachers can choose a collection to work on, guaranteeing they collect the Treasure they want.
HQ’s Head of Engineering Sean Boots is one of the driving forces behind the new Treasures feature on Geocaching.com and in the Geocaching® app. He’s here to chat about what’s happening with Treasures today and some thoughts about the future.

Get ready—May is shaping up to be a memorable month for geocachers! We’re excited to celebrate Blue Switch Day, the 25th anniversary of geocaching, and the arrival of two new Treasure collections.
Two new collections, Classic trackables and Mystery books, will be available starting May 6 at 12:00 PM UTC. To start collecting Treasure from the Classic trackables collection, geocachers must first complete the Celebrating 25 years collection.
