What is a T5 or D5 geocache? How do I search on the map? What icon should I use?

  • Rie29

It is a geocache with a difficulty or terrain rating of 5. (Look for 5 filled in blue stars at the top of a geocache page under the name of the cache. You can also search by difficulty or terrain rating if you are a premium member.) Any type of geocache (any icon) can have a T5 or D5 rating.

  • Ah – well if you can make it to the area north of London, either of two D5 Pharisee caches might work for you.

GCKZ29, Your Mission, is one of the all-time greats, a brilliant cache that does take days to finish but is worth every moment.

And GCGPTM, Trigonometry, Triangles and Treachery, is a D5 that’s not nearly as difficult as it looks if you’re meticulous.

Little bit disappointed here. The hardest one to get, the D5/T5 is also the one that has one of the shortest time periods. Why not start it in June like most of the others? I am sure there would be a large number of cachers who would appreciate a larger window

  • July 3 – Sept 2: Attend an Event, Mega-Event or Giga-Event – I didn’t notice that there is any Giga event coming up .. pls let me know where it is this year 🙂
