Cheers to a wonderful French Mega-Event!

Geocaching HQ staff attend dozens of Mega and Giga-Events around the world, shaking hands, sharing stories of adventure, and of course, geocaching. Giacaches, InsideOutsider, and |\/|ario recently attended the GeoBulles event (GC9QPN8) in France. Here’s their trip summary.

In addition to having the opportunity to attend a French Mega-Event, the location of GeoBulles was especially unique. Damery, located in the heart of the Champagne region, added an extra layer of magic to our GeoBulles experience.

The town’s enchanting streets, lined with charming houses and cobblestone pathways, provided an idyllic setting for a weekend of geocaching adventures. Between
geocaches, visitors could explore the region’s prestigious champagne houses, sample exquisite sparkling wines, and savor local culinary offerings.

On Friday, |\/|ario, WatermanHQ, and InsideOutsider went on a tour of Hautvillers, the historic capital of Champagne. A highlight of the excursion was visiting the Saint-Sindulphe church, the final resting place of Dom Pérignon, a pioneer of the Champagne making process.

Despite a weather report threatening rain earlier in the week, the day of the Mega-Event arrived to clear and sunny skies—aka, the perfect geocaching weather! The event space included a scenic park with a variety of Adventuress that brought visitors to creative gadget caches, unique 3D-printed containers, and puzzles that highlighted the area’s rich history and culture.

The event swag had been thoughtfully selected and even included trackable t-shirts for attendees!

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the organizing team for hosting such a wonderful event. It is through their dedication, passion, and excellent planning that geocachers from around the world could come together to celebrate the joy of geocaching.
