Maker Magic events: Cache creation and inspiration

From June 13–July 3, geocachers in 45 different countries hosted over 600 Maker Magic events, enchanting attendees with information and workshops about creating spellbinding new geocaches. From building gadget caches to teaching about caches requiring climbing equipment, the community took these special events as an opportunity to express their creativity which led to some exceptional new caches on the map. At the Let’s Create The Cache 4th (Tochigi) Maker Magic event in Tochigi, Japan, geocachers used household items to mold different kinds of geocache containers out of cement.

Geocachers in Northern Poland at the Maker Magic: Załóż kesza na wysokim poziomie event had the opportunity to learn how to hide tree caches from professional climbing instructors.

Creativity was buzzing at the Maker Magic: A Swarm of Pollinators event in New York where geocachers made all kinds of bee-themed geocaches. The event gallery is full of buzz-worthy photos of caches made at the event.

The hosts of Maker Magic: Magische Meet & Greet aan de Golem in Belgium shared lots of cache creation wisdom with event attendees. They brought a wide array of materials and gadgets that can be used as cache containers and explained the process for turning each item into a memorable geocache.

Geocachers in Tasmania, Australia, made some cache magic at the Maker Magic: Build a cache event. All attendees made new cache containers out of PVC pipes and spray painted them to create camouflage around the outside of the container.
