Tips to keep your streak going

With streaks as the theme for this month of Wheel of Challenges, geocachers around the world are starting streaks so they can add new souvenirs to their collection. Even for an avid cacher, it can be tough to keep a streak going. On our blog we’re sharing four tips for how to maintain your streak and make your way to becoming a true Streak Star.

Plan ahead
Planning which caches to find is a great way to get your streak off to a strong start and Premium features like Lists and search filters make this easy. Use search filters to see caches that meet your criteria and add them to a List. You could have multiple Lists based on caches near you, special caches for streak milestones, or easy caches for quick finds. Then instead of spending time everyday looking for what cache to find, you can just get to finding whatever cache is next on the List.

Take it easy
On days when committing to your find streak feels harder, take it easy and look for a geocache with a low Difficulty and Terrain rating. Even an easy find still offers the excitement of exploration and it will keep you moving forward with your goal.

Variety is the spice of life
Keep your streak interesting by finding different types of caches. For something different from the typical cache container, find an Adventure Lab® Location or attend an Event. Add some thrills to your streak with a fun and challenging Mystery Cache of Multi-Cache.

Add it to your routine
Keeping up a streak becomes a lot easier when you incorporate it into your daily and weekly routines. Anytime you head out of the house to commute to work, go to the grocery store, or walk the dog could also be an opportunity to find a geocache.
