Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) Ankündigung für 2020

Die Erde ist ein winziger blauer Punkt, der in den Weiten des Weltraums schwebt. Sie ist die Heimat von flüssigem Wasser, einer atmungsaktiven Atmosphäre, einer reichhaltigen Flora und Fauna und der einzigen Geocaching-Gemeinschaft im Universum.

Da wir auf dem einzigen Planeten – bis jetzt! – mit Geocaches leben, verstehen Geocacher, wie wichtig es ist, ihn zu schützen. “Cache In Trash Out”® (CITO) ist eine von der Geocaching-Community unterstützte Umweltinitiative. Schon seit 2002 helfen CITOs mit, cache-freundliche Orte zu erhalten. In dieser Zeit haben sich mehr als 470.000 Leute freiwillig an über 24.000 Events in 124 Ländern beteiligt.

Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) aankondiging voor 2020

De aarde is een klein blauw stipje in de uitgestrektheid van de ruimte. Het is een thuis voor vloeibaar water, een atmosfeer vol zuurstof, uitbundige flora en fauna en de enige geocachinggemeenschap in het universum.

Omdat we – tot nu toe! – op de enige planeet met geocaches leven, begrijpen geocachers hoe belangrijk het is om dit te beschermen. Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) is een milieu-initiatief gedragen door de geocachinggemeenschap. Sinds 2002 heeft CITO bijgedragen aan het behouden van cache-vriendelijke plekken. In die tijd hebben meer dan 470.000 mensen zich vrijwillig ingezet bij meer dan 24.000 events in 124 landen.

Earth is a tiny blue dot suspended in the vastness of space. It is home to liquid water, breathable atmosphere, abundant flora and fauna, and the only geocaching community in the universe. 

Since we live on the only planet—so far!⁠—with geocaches, geocachers understand how important it is to protect it. Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) is an environmental initiative supported by the geocaching community. Since 2002, CITO has helped preserve cache-friendly spaces. In that time, more than 470,000 people have volunteered at over 24,000 events in 124 countries.

Today, we release a new country/regional souvenir for the Åland Islands! If you have found a geocache in the Åland Islands, you automatically receive the souvenir on your profile.

The Åland Islands is a sweeping archipelago perched in the Baltic Sea. Finland’s smallest (and only Swedish speaking!) region, this island province is comprised of one large island, Fasta Åland, and over 6,500 skerries.

Since skerries are small, rocky islands, generally too small or harsh to be populated, most caches are placed on Fasta Åland, and among them is Sjökvarteret, our Geocache of the Week!
