Reach the Peak has just ended and around the world geocachers are catching their breath after “summiting” the seven tallest mountains on every continent. In addition to providing a chance to challenge our geocaching skills, our summits of those seven mountains also provided a reminder of how geocaching is tied to the beautiful outdoors. How lucky are we to have mighty mountains, forests, and trails as our gameboard? Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) is an environmental initiative supported by the geocaching community. Since 2002, CITO has enabled geocachers to beautify and restore natural and urban spaces. In that time, there have been more than 536,000 logged attendances at nearly 29,000 events where geocachers helped improve the outdoors.
2022 is the Year of the Hide. As part of this, Geocaching HQ is thrilled to reward cache owners who have given so much to the game with Virtual Rewards 3.0, a limited number of Virtual Caches for the geocaching community.
