Nestled within Southeastern Europe is the Republic of North Macedonia. Located on the Balkan Peninsula, the country lies at a junction point between several historic trade routes and is comprised primarily of mountains. In fact, 80% of North Macedonia’s land is mountainous!

For many of us, 2021 ended up looking very similar to 2020, as we still had many challenges to overcome and more obstacles to face. Geocaching allows us the time to slow down and appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds us. We were given a unique opportunity to take a deep breath and escape into the outdoors for a much-needed reset. For many of us, we may never have had the chance to spend so much time outside exploring, but we hope we can maintain it for the future. Geocaching is the perfect outlet for all who opt outside.

GC2179V Ko Tapu – James Bond Island isn’t trying to fool you with its name. The scene of this EarthCache, Ko Tapu, is a dramatic, rocky islet that sits in Phang-Nga Bay, Thailand, and was one of the backdrops featured in 1974’s The Man with the Golden Gun. The Bond film is such a tourist attraction that the island across from Ko Tapu has been unofficially renamed—as the sign shows below, Khao Phing Kan is now ‘James Bond Island.’
