Queens Stair case GC2CXZQ GEOCACHE OF THE WEEK – March 12, 2012

“Queens Stair Case” (GC2CXZQ) in the Bahamas leads geocachers to a marvel of the city. The Queen’s Staircase in Nassau descends into an Edan of Caribbean plants and local people.

The tropical atmosphere is filled with merchants, who’ve become geocaching advocates.

One geocacher who logged “Queens Stair case” writes, “Found [the cache] on Leap Day while visiting on a cruise. A vendor saw me looking for it and saw my GPS and asked if I was looking for the geocache. I said yes and she told me I was in the right location. Made a quick find and took a pic.”

The location of the cache, combined with the friendly people and the rich history makes the “Queens Stair case” the most “favorited” geocache in the Bahamas. The difficulty one, terrain 1.5 traditional cache has more than 60 Favorite Points.

HA. I JUST did the cache this week!! “Tony”, the guy who stands at the top of the stairs and gives you a short history lesson, sent us down the stairs with his little niece to get the cache! lol.  A nice area and the only regular cache we got while on the island.

My family found this cache on 2/23/12 when we visited Nassau. Great location! The kids loved finding our first cache in another country!

Cool! I got this one in January with my buddy Sam who’s a newbie cacher.

I also found this cache during a cruise last year. Local vendors also came to me while searching and they showed me the right place. Greetings from a German geocacher.

Very cool that I can say “Been there, done that, and signed the log.”

I have been caching for about a year and a half and have been meaning to come to Latitude 47 forever.  I finally checked it out tonight and saw this – which is cool because I have been there.  This has to be my favorite DNF ever.  I would have never found this beautiful place without caching – alas, I never found the cache.  The place was deserted when I was there otherwise I may have enlisted some help from the locals.  It is a beautiful spot and I hope to return one day.
