Adventure Lab® Spotlight: Morocco’s Imperial Cities: a Royal Adventure

This month’s Adventure Lab® spotlight takes us to North Africa with Morocco’s Imperial Cities: a Royal Adventure. If you’ve completed lots of Adventures, you might be used to them guiding you around neighborhoods or cities. This Adventure takes it to the next level by guiding you around a whole country! The five Locations bring explorers to five cities important to Morocco’s imperial history. From the bustling souks of Marrakesh to the Kasbah of the Udayas in the coastal city of Rabat, explore Morocco with this unique Adventure.

The five Locations of this Adventure in Marrakesh, Rabat, Casablanca, Meknes, and Fez are non-sequential, so you can start the Adventure wherever is most convenient for you. The Adventure takes you to special spots in each city, but the Location descriptions from the Adventure’s creator, BrázioScout, helpfully list additional interesting historical facts about the city and sights there you’ll want to explore. With all this information, you won’t even need a guidebook!

One of the special spots in this Adventure is the Royal Palace in Fez. The original structure of the building, a palace of the King of Morocco, was built in 1276 and expanded and restored in the following centuries. The building is not open to the public, but a visit to the palace is worth it to see its impressive entrance. The entrance’s ornate bronze doors and walls of colorful tiles are a feast for the eyes.

With the significant distance between each Location of the Adventure, it will take some planning to complete it, but the planning will pay off with an experience you’ll never forget.
