Did you miss the Geocaching International Film Festival this year? In 2020 we have been taking a look back at the past 20 years of geocaching and it wouldn’t make sense to leave GIFF out.
On November 17th we will release a “Best of: GIFF” film reel including submissions from every year since 2013. Creative geocachers journeyed to space, hunted for FTFs, and fell in love all in the name of geocaching. Previous winners and honorable mentions from each year will be highlighted.
While we aren’t having a souvenir this year, we are capturing the spirit of GIFF in one video. You can find it on Facebook, YouTube, and in our Newsletter on November 17th.
Today, we release a new country/regional souvenir for Honduras! If you have found a geocache in Honduras, you automatically receive the souvenir on your profile.
Honduras is home to ancient Mayan ruins, the world’s second largest coral reef, and several active volcanoes. Caches here showcase the natural beauty of this country, from the Caribbean lowlands to the expansive mountainous highlands.
As we look back on twenty years of geocaching history, we decided to revisit some of our favorite Geocaches of the Week from years past.
This week we’re kickin’ it back to March 2017 when we awarded the honor of Geocache of the Week to van “Kluis tot Kookhuis” (GC2JV5X).

La Réunion est une île isolée de l’Océan Indien, à des centaines de kilomètres du continent le plus proche. Son isolement en fait une escapade idéale pour les visiteurs qui découvriront une culture tissée par la multitude de ses habitants. Les récifs coralliens, les forêts et les volcans abritent une grande variété d’espèces dont certaines sont endémiques et ne peuvent être trouvées nulle part ailleurs dans le monde. Que vous préfériez lacer vos chaussures de randonnée, enfiler une combinaison de plongée ou vous allonger sur la plage, vous ne serez jamais bien loin d’une géocache.
