Geocache of the Week Flashback Edition: Table Top Trove (GCMYYZ)

As we look back on twenty years of geocaching history, we decided to revisit some of our favorite Geocaches of the Week from years past.
This week we’re setting our time machines to December 2011 when we awarded the honor of Geocache of the Week to Table Top Trove (GCMYYZ). Even in 2011 this cache had already made quite a name for itself as one of the most visited caches in South Africa. Almost 9 years later, the cache continues to impress with over 100 Favorite points and more than 2000 finds. This cache also stands out from the crowd because of how long it has been in the game. This past February marked 15 years since it was placed!

As we look back on twenty years of geocaching history, we decided to revisit some of our favorite Geocaches of the Week from years past.
This week we’re going back to September 2015 when we first put Gdansk TB Hotel (GC2EC67) in the spotlight. Almost five years later, this clever urban cache is still delighting geocachers and earning an impressive number of Favorite points.

This coming weekend marks the 20th anniversary of May 2, 2000, also known as Blue Switch Day, the day that made geocaching possible. It is also the 20th anniversary of the day the first geocache was placed, May 3, 2000.

2020 ist für Geocaching ein besonderes Jahr. Es sind nun zwanzig Jahre, in denen Menschen aus aller Welt die GPS-Technologie verwenden, um Abenteuer, Freundschaften, und natürlich Geocaches zu finden. Das wurde durch die Geschehnisse am 2. Mai 2000 möglich gemacht. Geocacher nennen diesen Tag den Blue Switch Day (“Tag des blauen Schalters”).
