¡El día de Agradecimiento a los Voluntarios es el 22 de Mayo!

Tanto si llevas haciendo geocaching 20 minutos como 20 años, te has beneficiado de los esfuerzos y dedicación de los voluntarios de geocaching.
Cerca de 400 voluntarios de la comunidad y miles de propietarios de geocachés y organizadores de Eventos ofrecen su tiempo generosamente para ayudar a los geocachers de todo el mundo a disfrutar de su juego favorito.

Los voluntarios de la Comunidad incluyen revisores, revisores de EarthCache, moderadores de foros y traductores. Hacen ésto únicamente por amor al juego y porque les gusta ayudar a los demás. También son voluntarios aquellos que crean cachés de calidad para inspirar al resto, unir a su comunidad local en eventos sociales y servir en los comités de desarrollo de Mega y Giga-Eventos. Prueban las nuevas características beta de Geocaching HQ, son activos en sus organizaciones locales, y organizan eventos Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) para agradecer al entorno donde jugamos.

El 22 de Mayo (y cualquier día), tómate un momento para agradecer y celebrar con los voluntarios que se ofrecen a diario para hacer que el mundo del geocaching siga girando. ¡Hacen un gran esfuerzo para ti!

La Fête des Bénévoles a lieu le 22 mai !

Que vous soyez géocacheur depuis 20 minutes ou 20 ans, vous avez bénéficié des efforts des bénévoles dévoués du géocaching. Environ 400 bénévoles de la communauté ainsi que des milliers de propriétaires de caches et organisateurs d’Events donnent généreusement de leur temps pour aider les géocacheurs du monde entier à profiter de leur jeu préféré.

Les bénévoles de la communauté incluent les reviewers, les reviewers de EarthCaches, les modétateurs de forums, et les traducteurs.
Ils jouent leurs rôles uniquement par amour du jeu et aussi parce qu’ils aiment rendre service aux autres. Les bénévoles sont aussi ceux qui créent des caches de haute qualité pour inspirer les autres, rassembler leur communauté locale pour des events sociaux, et participer aux comités de planification pour les Events de type Mega ou Giga. Ils beta-testent les nouvelles fonctionnalités du Geocaching HQ, sont actifs au sein de leurs associations géocaching locales, ils organisent des Events Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) pour donner en retour à cet environnement qui est notre terrain de jeu.

Le 22 mai (et chaque jour d’ailleurs), prenez un peu de temps pour remercier et célébrer les bénévoles qui donnent de leur temps chaque jour pour faire tourner le monde du géocaching. Ils y mettent beaucoup du leur pour vous !

Thank a Volunteer Day is May 22!

Whether you’ve been geocaching for 20 minutes or 20 years, you’ve benefited from the efforts of dedicated geocaching volunteers. Nearly 400 community volunteers and thousands of cache owners and Event hosts give their time generously to help geocachers all over the world enjoy their favorite game.

Community volunteers include reviewers, EarthCache reviewers, forum moderators, and translators. They perform their roles solely for the love of the game and because they enjoy helping others. Volunteers are also those who create high quality geocaches to inspire others, bring their local community together for social events, and serve on the planning committees for Mega and Giga-Events. They beta-test new features from Geocaching HQ, are active within their local geocaching organizations, and host Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) Events to give back to the environment where we play our game.

On May 22 (and every day), take some time to thank and celebrate the volunteers that give of themselves every day to make the geocaching world turn. They put in a lot of effort for you!

The making of a Lackey Tag

Lackey Tags have been around since 2011, when they were given to Lackeys* to commemorate their Lackeyversaries (the anniversary of the date they joined the company). These coveted tags are traded at events, dropped into caches, or sent off into the world as owned trackables. Since the only way to acquire one of these tags is for someone to interact directly with a Lackey, they can become quite popular among SWAG collectors. (Or would it be SFLO—Stuff From Lackeys Only)? You may be wondering how these special tags get created. Here, graphic designer Roxxy gives us the scoop on the history, design, and production of Lackey tags.

Het maken van een Lackey-tag

Lackey-tags bestaan sinds 2011, toen ze aan Lackeys* werden gegeven om hun Lackeyverjaardag te vieren (de verjaardag van de datum dat zij het bedrijf kwamen werken). Deze gewilde tags worden geruild op events, achtergelaten in caches of de wijde wereld ingestuurd als eigen trackables. Omdat de enige manier om aan één van deze tags te komen is om direct contact te hebben met een Lackey, kunnen ze erg populair worden bij SWAG-verzamelaars. (Of zou het SVAL – Spul Van Alleen Lackeys – moeten zijn?) Je vraagt je misschien af hoe deze speciale tags worden gemaakt.
