Die Feiertage sind optimal zum Geocachen

Familie und Freunde über die Feiertage zu besuchen, ist großartig – und mit Geocaching kann es sogar zauberhaft werden: Du könntest die Kiddies mitnehmen auf ein aufregendes und lustiges Abenteuer oder den anderen damit eine neue Variante aufzeigen, nach draußen zu gehen und sich zu bewegen. Außerdem ist Geocaching natürlich auch eine super Möglichkeit, die Kalorien eines umfangreichen Festessens wieder loszuwerden.

Reisen über die Feiertage beinhalten auch die Möglichkeit, neue Geocacher aus anderen Regionen zu treffen. Schau doch einmal nach, ob es Events in der Nähe gibt – oder veranstalte doch einfach selbst eines!

Celebrate Amazing Geocachers

Each month, geocachers nominate the person they think is the ultimate community-minded geocacher for the ultimate geocaching community award: Geocacher of the Month. Nominees range from incredible event hosts, those who introduced new geocachers to the game, and geocache makers whose out-of-this-world inventions inspire others to think outside the plastic container.

We’ll peruse the nominations and choose three geocachers as finalists. From there, the community takes the reins and votes in the form of comments on the blog post. Each of the finalists receives a gift pack from Geocaching HQ, plus a virtual high-five from the entire geocaching community.

There are Few Things Better Than a Blank Logbook

Lace up your running shoes, charge your phone or GPS, make sure there’s fuel in your geo-mobile’s tank—it’s time to go on an FTF hunt.

What’s an FTF? It’s the most popular unofficial stat in the geocaching community. It stands for First to Find. To achieve a FTF you must be the first person to sign the logbook after a geocache is published on Geocaching.com.

Want to join the race? Here are a few tips:

– Instant Notifications – Geocaching Premium members can receive an email as soon as a new geocache is published. Click to set yours up now.
– Keep Your Geocaching Tools With You – A new geocache can be published at any time, so be ready to go!
– Develop Your Geosenses – Knowing the right places to look can mean the difference between an FTF and searching for hours.
