Did you know that when the credits rolled for The Wizard of Oz in 1939 the yellow brick road did not end? You have the opportunity to step into the land of Oz at TIN MAN, (GC3JAY4). This geocache was originally featured as Geocache of the Week almost nine years ago in 2012. 

TIN MAN is still a big hit among geocachers, whether or not they consider themselves a fan of The Wizard of Oz. We originally featured GC3JAY4 as Geocache of the Week back when it was only six months old, and it has since accumulated 530 Favorite points and logged over 730 times.

Cabo Verde is famous for Morna, its national music that beautifully incorporates dance, voice, and poetry.

The warm blue waters and famous beaches contrast with the Blue Mountains to the east. From the distance, a blue haze lingers over these mountains well-known for the coffee beans that grow there and the highest peak in Jamaica, Blue Mountain Peak.

Today’s featured EarthCache takes us to New Mexico and Mars, as part of the Planetary Geology on Earth Series. New Mexico’s “Land of Enchantment” moniker is well deserved for its breathtaking beauty on a grand scale. The area features stunning desert landscapes and impressive geological features like tall sandstone hoodoos, volcanic calderas, and lava plugs. Add to that bubbling hot springs, magnificent deep river gorges, the world-renowned Carlsbad Caverns full of spectacular formations and the largest cave room in North America, and you’re sure to feel enchanted too.
